The Cryptologist

He speaks the language of the two

this magician of words and travel

who lives in black velvet shadow

a lonely beggar on a barren hill

his heart is broken and his tongue is still

a patient lover for a thousand years

collecting wishes and drinking tears

    1. That is the most important thing I ever hear Gabrielle, that whatever I write has meaning for another, regardless of what initially inspired the writing. πŸ™‚

  1. THE LOOTER

    Collecting tears
    To build a sea
    And make the salt become
    Sugar and spice

    Drinking wishes
    As a thirsty sea
    Which creates lighthouses
    To encourage sinkings

    Sentinels always sing
    With neither hope and despair
    Just telling stories
    To some foolish ears

    1. Now THIS is a poem I adore Gilles, particularly the middle verse. I’m a deep dark cynic and this is full of truth. Merci dear poet, for leaving this gift here. πŸ™‚
