Moral Remittance

Lay it down

Pick it up

Carry the weight around

until you buckle halfway over

Sweat it through your twisting and turning

midnight soul burning

and shadows will settle all matters right

making amends with the emergence of light

  1. Dig this piece, love the title..
Love how you’ve broken down all the writers into geographical territory which no doubt makes a difference in moral remittance..

    Peacey weacy

  2. Makes me think of “Baker Street” ,kind of a depressing, defeatist song in ways but then there is ,” when you wake up its a new morning ,the sun is shinin its a new mornin and youre going youre going on”. πŸ™‚

It really sounds great to read out loud.

  3. Dawn works wonders on the soul too!!
Which might be probably why I don’t fall asleep till dawn πŸ™‚

Tight poem, Val… that journey seems kinda tough, but it’s gotta be made right anyway..
