RUN

At rest and in decline

a body in morbid repose

flesh and bone and nerves

signals misfiring like tiny atom bombs inside your limbs

the two are now inert

a memory on fire

pins

gams

spiders have eight

crazy legs

you have two

your now dead appendages

but then…

you sleep

you dream

burdens become buried deep in a place without limits

where the gate is wide and visual

a fertile free way to discard your body betrayal

ankles, shins and thighs

knees that bend and know

that you are more than this

more than the slave of disease and loss

here on the open road of your subconscious

nothing can stop you

first you walk

and then

you

run

  1. Whoa! That was one heck of a read!! Awesome, Val!
We run and run, and get tired, and still keep running… Do we even know what we are running form, or running into? I wish… šŸ™‚

A stunning poem, girl… you rock!!! (hugs)

    1. Thank you Kavita, I think in life we know what we are running from but often choose to pretend we don’t. It’s that damn human thing again lol

    1. Tell you friend who reminds you of me or me of her, that I send her a big wonderful HUGS from Canada. My friend is suffering and yet she is the most composed and loving soul I’ve ever known. Why is it that assholes never find themselves in this spot, only the good ones? Grrrr
