The Stone Roller

He wore his opposition like a crown of thorns

a devils advocate in a bloody suit

each accusing finger adorned with the jewel he stole from the dead

a garish cousin who freeloads your opportunities

he sleeps in your bed

lives in your head

until he gets the urge to move along

to the next pocket he can pick

or soul he can steal

until he gorges himself to death on his unpaid debt

  1. Superb Val, you’ve illustrated this unlikable character very well.
(small typo; ‘his’ in the first line, don’t know if it’s bad form to point it out – delete this comment if it offends)

    1. Not bad for at all Cin. Thank you, it’s been mended 🙂 I backspace like a maniac when I write, so a missing ‘h’ isn’t uncommon for me lol hugs
