    1. Gabrielle, HUGS, for buying Jessie’s book! Whoohoo! I’m going to fiddle around more with these reviews therefore it means a great deal to me that you liked the vlog and more importantly that it made you buy a copy. You made Wassa smile today, thank you girl. 🙂

  1. You guys are seriously overwhelming me! It has always been hard for me to accept compliments or to think I even deserve them (wait? isn’t that the same thing) but I am just in awe of the thought and ease of Val’s review and the eloquence of her readings. I’ve been feeling a bit tired of the whole process of marketing right now so this has definitely perked me up! Just love you Val and all you guys here on this blog. So glad I found you! Ok. Stop being sentimental. To stop it ? I’ll say POOP!

    1. Jessie, it can be so damn difficult to keep the cheer leading yourself and this is what we are all supposed to do for each other. Writing is such a lonely pursuit and as a choice of a career, it is very discouraging at times. If I have helped, it is because A. you are an exceptional writer and I want you to succeed and B. you are a wonderful person you’ve more than earned the friendship and respect of your peers. Perhaps you don’t see the good you do for others, but you’re a dynamic person who inspires many reading this comment. Eloquence? Nah! Your words are the eloquent part of this vlog, so keep churning them out and writing the next book! HUGS

  2. Thank you Bryan 🙂 I completely agree with you, everyone who reads this should go and buy Paper House. Granny Destross is an ongoing process of something or other that I can’t explain but that will get to someplace at some point in time. lol HUGS for loving Granny and CeeCee.

  3. A great review, a great honour. Loved the poem on what I interpreted as denial – of a very basic, and malign form. How often do the words not, never, no, uttered by others, and sometimes even by our own subconscious, stunt our progress.

    1. Thank you Dark Lord, I hope you drop by Jessie Carty’s blog or folded word press and buy a copy of Paper House. I agree with you, self talk that is negative is what keeps us stuck in a very bad place. It’s good to see you again! I hope school has been going well for you this year. 🙂

  4. This is a nice review.
I did not come from a broken home so I want to say that you are so right to say that that is not necessary to appreciate the book.

For me Paper House is like journey across sparkling eyes ,through clouds of warm breath and at times a light mist of tears.

    1. I swear Mark, you come by here and drop the most lovely words sometimes! You have perfectly described Paper House and you’ve done it better than I did! I’m happy as a clam that you liked the vlog. 🙂
