  1. One of my top three books of all time, next to Steinbeck’s “East of Eden” and Maya Angelou’s “Singing, Swinging, and Getting Merry Like Christmas.” Quite the interesting footage! At the root of fiction there’s always some fact, isn’t there?

    1. I met Maya you know. She was giving a talk in Washington State when we lived there and we were invited as part of a cultural thang. That woman is charisma and goodness personified. I love her. You are also correct about the foundation of fact in fiction. It is just a way to tell the truth without the fear of being naked in front of the class. 😉

  2. thanks for sharing that Val. Very interesting 🙂 I’ve been thinking about going back and reading “The Catcher in the Rye” again. Have so many favorite books I haven’t re-read in years because I have so much new material I am reading. Perhaps I should do something about that?
