Past Pondering

You’re a sore spot to me

The bruise on a rosy apple

Threatening to rot the barrel

Spread the blight

You’re a puzzle to me

A never ending struggle

To divine the mystery

Your murky  history

You’re a lesson to me

School house bully teacher

Resource rich in misery

A tarnished golden rule

You’re history to me

A dusty trail behind

You’re looming figured diminished

At the vanishing point of pain

  1. Wow Val, this poem has some very powerful imagery.

The bruise on a rosy apple

    Threatening to rot the barrel

    Spread the blight

That is exquisite in it’s simplicity, yet expresses ultimately profound significance.

    This moved me.
