Trash Can Sally Ann

There she is

See her there?

Flat features display

store window mug

The lady down on her luck

Downtown

Platform shoes relic

Coat of fake stink mink brown

She walks and talks gesticulating

A personal air discussion

Invisible beau at her side

She preens like a cat

Furball involved

Her bleach blonde hair piled somewhere

High

Like she is

Up there

The bow of legs articulating

Striped blue stockings

In remarkable shape upon consideration

Astride those shoes

She floats in midair

A human Zeppelin

An act combustion

A pimply teen

Squeaking a giggle insult

In passing

On a lark

Left her with a grimace

A mad noggin nod

life went on down

Down the wrong track

Her mind eloped

Alcohol smitten

Darling kitten

Down the hatch

A booster  patch

To a sore that never heals

Now she lives

Nowhere real

To be found

Talking to the vacant wind

In borrowed clothes

Her sad repose

Her wino nose

This wasn’t in the plan

Poor

Poor

Trash can Sally Ann

  1. Wow, you’ve captured her perfectly Val. If I hadn’t seen her I would certainly be able to pick her out on this description alone; beautifully perceived and written.
