You And I, Then And Now

 

 

The rush of your breath across my ear

As you whisper something insider funny

The intimate touch of your arm 

 Electric amid the din of others

 

You and I are a secret society of two

Drawing our twin dream on the sky

Fearless and hooked 

On unalterable change

 

One year is but a moment

Your husky voice told me so

In the time of our twisting turning

The heat remaining where we left it

 

You look to  a sharp  horizon

 A clock ticking behind you

One day won’t arrive

Until halfway, you greet it

 

 Now  your arms grasp something fake

Not worthy of your care

   Asleep within  your life

A shattered truth your bed
