Sky, Colour, Truth

Van Gogh Vincent - Starry Night

Vincent Van Gogh

I saw the sky today

and tasted crimson gold

Bitter lamentations escape a guilty throat

then it was night

All the blackness like tar

sparkling salt amid the sticky lies

One day we will see them like stars

new worlds like a shiny penny

But today I see the sky

turning indigo and cold

A reminder that all is not mine

nor shall the dream prevail
