The Absence

February 11, 2012

I wanted to find the perfect word

to describe the way leaves part from the trees

in their autumn of goodbye

but instead I’ll discuss my own removal

a silent shivering orphan

disappearing around hidden corners and up dead end streets

and all the ghosts I’ve ever known

Play my dirge so sweetly

their cold hands know each note by heart

I like the opening lines too. I think they’re brilliant. If you think about it it could be a lifetime quest to find the words to describe to the way leaves part from trees. I love the way you think and the emotions you express!

Thank you Guy. :) My opening lines are sometimes weak so this means a lot that you liked it.
