If you go to lulu.com and you search for The Adventures Of Granny Destross And CeeCee you will find my book. I’ve gone the print on demand route and I’ve done it as simply as possible. No flash, no illustration, just the story folks. If the story can’t stand on its own merit, then all the pretty toons in the world won’t save it. Waaaay back in the day before marketing, fancy schmancy art covers and Disney, there was simply, the book. Usually in navy blue or red hardcover with the title, author’s name and publisher’s name. I’ve decided to go against the herd/trend/status quo once more in my life and even though it has been a colossal mistake in the past, this time I feel it’s the right move. I’ve opted for the no frills, simple is best, straight up unfettered story telling. My aim is the give some wee youngins a good tale to read and enjoy. Okay, that’s it. I’ve done my level best and it’s out there for others. Be good to yourselves as always fellow scribes and send the good zen vibe to each other.

Thanks Anne! I hope you like it and I appreciate your support more than I can say. hugs
Congratulations Val! I’m a supporter:)
Hugs and thank you Calliopespen my sweet, it means a great deal to me.
It sounds very exciting! My daughter is just the right age for this book:) Very excited to read it!
That is exactly why I wrote it and the spirit in which this egg was hatched. I hope you both love the story and the characters.
HUGS Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Oh I’m sure we will! It is so difficult finding good books for this age group (my daughters are 7 and 11–this is for my 11 year old) because it seems they are either targeted to a much younger or MUCH more mature audience even when they are “written for tweens.”
Can’t wait. Let me put a post on my blog for you to help you get the word out, ok? We have to stick together:)
You are without a doubt a blazingly wonderful human being Calliospen and my thanks don’t seem enough…Thank you!
HUGS

HUGS! Many thanks good friend.
I hope you like it!
Congratulations – That’s great news, Val. Good for you!
Thank you Jam! It’s a relief to actually do it.
Yayayay! Congratulations. There are so many good reasons to self-publish and so few for going through the grind of finding a publisher who is going to keep most of the profits. You should now put links to it everywhere. Put a link with a picture in your sidebar, make it as easy as possible for people to buy it. Give away a few copies to people who will write cool reviews in their blogs. The skies the limit!
Paul, I completely agree with every statement you’ve made. I don’t know why I didn’t do this a while back when it was on my mind. You are also correct about promoting it and this weekend I’ll get my back into that work too. I’ve got one other thing to do as well, buy a book on lulu called…something about a puzzle box???
Thanks for your encouragement Paul, it matters.
Why, yes, I want to buy a book!
How did you know?
Oh…I’m psychic like that. lol You are beyond wonderful my friend and I treasure your work, humour and friendship. I too have learned so much from you and continue to do so. HUGS

Thank you sweet Lisa! If you know any children, try to put it in their hands as well. I’m working on the second volume now and hopefully it will be up by the end of summer. Payday? Did you go and get yourself another job? Excellent! HUGS
No, not yet unfortunately…*sighs* I still am getting checks from the previous job, but I have a lead or two so hopefully something will pan out. I’m still optimistic.
Anyway, I do know some kids so after I read it I will pass it along!
